i have here a used EDC16C35 (exact same numbers as ori ecu)

i did edit ISN number and calc, checksum my self, so far so good

the Alignment on bench will also work i guess but what i need to know is this, on this page it says "9. Do coding for DME"
https://www.microtronik....-and-isn-writer-e-series

what do i need to code exactly?
and can this be done on bench?

Coding is to adapt vin in ecu. All possible on bench , better to connect cas with tricore power and power up ecu with separate power

ok thanks, so that all?

can i read vin from old ecu or does autohex read vin from cas and write it to the ecu
or must i get vin number from the car it self

so first the coding and after that the Alignment ?

sorry for the questions but i dont do lots of bmw's this way, its always CS i fix by hand or cloning/repairs but not coding etc...

Thats all...AH will take everything needed from cas.

-Code dme
-Sync (will be easier on car)

Cant really see which menu u in. Hook up cas and ecu on bench .

Vin should change after that.
Sync better on car

thats indeed the menu im in, no vin coding, i can see vin in cas, ecu in other menus but not "change/edit vin"

but i can do it in bin file manually but thats not why i did buy autohex to do all editing my self incl checksum calculation

Yes agree, AH do all this easy. You should just familiarize yourself with the tool. Il try to help.
Go out to previous menu, go -on bench fault codes . Do you see cas and ecu listed?

so.. if i understand you correctly, AH does copy the info(vin) from cas to ecu, is this correct?
and indeed i did "Choose dde and hit play " also a few times and i get "coding done" in green if i member it correctly

im not home now so i cant see it...

autohex can easly adapt the vin from cas to dme/dde in indiv coding for dme/dde onbench or on car.
for sync cas-dme isn for short isn cases it is required extra wires from cas to dme onbench , but on car it is there and it can be synced isn .

Yes please post pinout for these extra wires?
I was under the impression that jbe needs to be incorporated as well to do on bench sync

hi
that sync between cas - dme wiring depends on ecu type, for me9.x and same pinout ecus can be synced onbench with d-ews rolling line as like in the photo. for other ecus you have to check and find out if possible. please check the given wiring for cas and me9.xx ecu. cas me9.2 onbench sync.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.

please try find the d ews line between cas and dde and connect and try sync , but that one is not tested thats why we dont have wiring to provide.
thank you
