Hi. So far I have used the Hextag to clone a couple of CAS modules but I don't use it too much because of the type of work I get. Now I have an E46 the the cluster is taking down the K-bus, so I want to install a used one. I can't find any microtronik videos that show how to do it. Can it be done without removing the chip? If I have to remove it, how do I connect to Hexprog? Thank you. I apologize but I haven;t used it very much and finding any instructions on this topic is not easy.Thank you for your help.

Disassemble the cluster and remove the 35080 eeprom chip. Use the provided eeprom adaptor and read the data from the chip. Edit the data, write back and solder the chip back on.

What Hex edit program did you use for the VIN edit? I am trying to figure out the best way. I read it and changed miles, but I still need to do VIN. Thank you very much.

OK. I used Hex Editor and was able to open my file. Now how can I tell which is the VIN and how can I change it to new vin?
Thank you again.
I was trying to attach the file here but it won't let me.

have to locate the vin from eeprom file and edit that manually, please check if eeprom vin is encrypted or not.

I just posted the file compressed. I hope I did it right. If someone can help I would be grateful, or if anyone can recommend a company. I tried Precision ECU but they don't respond and after reading reviews on the internet I am afraid to waste more money. If None here can help I will have to try swapping EEPROM but I don't know if mine is actually the problem.

Now, being this is a zip file, do I have to do anything before I can see load it to HexProg?

Unzip the file and then write it using hexprog. The chip must be taken off of the circuit board in order to successfully write.

I was able to do everything but when I installed it, a CodE message comes on and not of the gauges or odometer work. My original problem with K bus down got fixed, though. I was able to erase codes from DSC but I can't get KOMBI to work. If I try to code it, it says that Vehicle Order in Immobilizer is different from KOMBI. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
By the way same thing happens if I use the original EEPROM with the donor cluster.
