I have read out the DME on bench with Hextag.
Just curious, how can I extract the ISN from it?

I guess i don't have to keep guessing like someone suggest.
I saw that function on AUTOHEX, I was just confuse and wasn't sure where to hook up the DME.
Where is that diagram from?

For this ECU you need to connect DME and CAS together if you want to read ISN on bench from ISN manager option 1. Please see the attached connection.

For this ECU you need to connect DME and CAS together if you want to read ISN on bench from ISN manager option 1. Please see the attached connection. Also in some ME9.2 need power on pin 8 also on T1 slot , so if ECU not responding add red wire to pin 8 also.

With that connection...but is posible that autohex doesnt support this sw version that you have...because autohex have problems with some old dme/dde

if not supported software will give message DME/DDE ISN error, but i do believe fault he is getting is no communication.

This might be true. Never been able to read any ME9s on bench with my tool.

if you get error you must continue trying to read or close autohex and reopen[attach]744[/attach
