Hi there

I have just tried to (retrofit) code a used HU cic navigation system part number: 65129239155 to an 2010 F10 car, and in individual programming and individual coding, Autohex say ' ECU not compatible' even though the replacement cic unit came out of an F10 car which was also a 2010 model.

The reason why I want to code it to the car is the customer had the smaller cic mid and he wanted to upgrade to a HU cic.

We've plugged in the replacement unit and it works, the radio, CD and even the navigation, but we want to code it to the car and also make it recognise the Cd changer.

I think Autohex should be able to code this head unit to the car, but I cannot do anything because on the list of ECUs, the HU cic is not compatible.

I also replaced the smaller screen with the larger screen and coded that with no problems, only the cic gives me problems.

We have many F10 cic in stock from 2010 F10 cars and I have tried all on them, still 'ECU not compatible'.

Can you please advise me further because this would be classed as a retrofit, which would mean adding a new option on the FA?

Thanks

When Autohex II reports that "Ecu not compatible" it means you cannot program that Ecu, because the flash data in that Ecu will not be suitable to the car FA.
To work around this (you must be expert) is to change the FA by any FA tool.
We can do nothing with your CIC as it has different code, different program that what it supposed to be,

Thank you Decno

I posted the same question by several different mediums because i needed a quick reply as i had the car with me at the time. But now i understand that for responses, customers may need to wait until the following day for replies from support.

So just to ask another connected question.... 'To change the FA by any FA tool', this would be NCS Expert, or E-SYS?

Thanks

Both will work, depends on the class E or F.
you must be very careful in changing the FA, you may make other ecus not compatible.
