Autohex II supports BMW key programming in F series, it is just few steps procedure, but you have to read CAS EEPROM as it is required.

For cas4 5m48h is it enough to do a backup reading using xprog, or is needed to do security reset to get the right dump? im asking because the backup reading will not reset security and for this reason is way safer.

Autohex does not care what tool you use to read EEPROM from CAS, some data inside the dump are required to complete the key programming procedure.
