Hello everyone.
been using hexprog for a few months now and love it.
I have a 2011 VW Jetta 2.0 TDI.
EDC17CP14

I was able to read orig via bench.
replacement i had to read via boot because TROT protected.

Writing backup to ecu vehicle would start and stall. had immobilizer message on dash.

I sent internal flash for immo off service, wrote flash back to ecu and now it cranks and no start.
No ecm codes however i do have ECM code for communication/signal.

Is this an error on my end? have i followed the wrong procedures?

Cloning is not possible only by overwriting all data. The unit has an OTP area that cannot be overwritten. Attach a full reading of the original and the donor.

I was not aware of that, thanks.
I knew there was something going on. I'm still learning and it's hard for me to find correct information.

Turns out the vehicle was miss diagnosed and doesn't need an ECU.

Anyways I'd like to learn for future vehicles.
