Hi,

I have n E90 with a water damaged ECU and I am having problems finding a replacement with the same numbers, I do however have a few of the same type but these don't seem to be compatible.

Original ECU is a Bosh 0261S04289, the Bosh website shows this is a MEV17.2.1 but I think its actually a MEV17.4.6. I have other ECU with different Bosh number which are also MEV17.4.6 but when I try adapt them I can't write the ISN from the donor ECU into the CAS (it gets rejected) and I also can't write the ISN from the CAS into the ECU. I'm guessing this is blocked as it must be incompatible?

The software on the replacement DME is 1039S25264 and internally it looks the same hardware as the original dead ECU. If I were to get a matching/ compatible file should I be able to write this to the Donor DME so I can then adapt it correctly?

Any help would be appreciated.
