It is early to go in details about tuning function. But I would say that the plan now is to read, write, and correct checsum for flash after modification. Currently no plan to make the flash editor, especially as I know most of tuning tools owners they use other companies with reasanable charges to do this tuning ( which I believe it is the best method: read flash-> send it to them-> they tune it-> you write it back). Besides there are 10s of different tuning programs ( some are free or cracked) that do only flash modification leaving the checksum correction and flash read/write to another tools.
You can use this for ecu cloning of course ( which I believe it will be the main job to most of users).
Let’s focus on BDM in this stage, we would like to cover more than BMW.

As far as I know HexTag was originally designed to complete Autohex in CAS editing functionality and apparently extends to some other great features, which is good.
But let's keep in mind that Microtronik's main concept in BMW marque is to evolve and develop new innovations like new DME ISN read/writes, latest body controllers security hacks, etc.

Just my two cents...






P.S. As always a big thanks for releasing F series MSD87 ISN reading and F series advanced coding.

What about reading ISN or writing ISN for F series with 6HP EGS? Or E series with 8HP?

This would be deal maker to have this function. Even bmw explorer can’t do these early series with the 6/8HP Trans.

Can we expect this to be added or I would like and RFE to add this feature ASAP. It’s a must for this BDM tool.

if you get cas and egs 6hp for F series from same car you can reset egs on car

1. Can export / import key from cas2/3/3+ to other cas ?
2. work only with connect to cas or maybe on file (bin) ?

Still didn't get my answers??? So will you kindly let my know 3 simple things
1. When new tool going to be able to read cas4 trough obd?
2. After paid subscription finish will I be able to read isn for key programming purpose(all keys lost)
3. After subscription finish will I be still able to update fem for key programming purpose?



Not getting this answers I'm start to believe you can use your 5k tool only for not encrypted cas2/3 after subscription finish which is ridiculous. When I place my order I was believe my hw4 will do cas4 by obd and I won't need subscription for key programming only. If I need to pay 700 a year for pleasure of coding keys with 5k tool than is simple rip off and surely not worth money paid.

1- No one said HexProg will read CAS4 by OBD.
2- Hextag is a key programmer and BDM tool, there is nothing to do with subscription of Autohex II. I can say that if your subscription in Autohex II got expired, you can use HexProg/HexTag for BDM jobs, and maybe another future functions.

I’ve tried installing a few times and have the same issue.
The device is however showing in Device Manager, so not sure what’s wrong.

Start updata, sw see device...conect to microtronic server...try updata...but unsuccessful !!!
2. Autohex device try updata////Configuration is ok...wi-fi status /network conection ok...

yes hextag is the new BDM tool,htag is the old key programmer.
