quick question should the Flash file also be edited when cloning this ecu
or do we only need to adapt the Eeprom file?

Both donor and original ecu are running different flash softwares (same bosch hardware) so ideally want to copy the original flash to donor

Any help appreciated!

hello
if you want to transfer flash also then make backup from original and restore to donor ECU. make backup from donor before restore also.
In case if you don't want to transfer Flash you can just transfer the D- flash which will allow to start the car because in BMW MEVD1725 all immo information(ISN) is stored in D-flash. As BMWZG mentioned its ideal to transfer both so make backup and restore.

sorry misunderstood it as MED17.2.5 , In VAG/Porsche Models IMMO data is stored in OTP portion of the ECU , so even if you clone car will not start unless you do IMMO OFF or Sync IMMO
